Dr. J.K Richard Glover

Agri-food systems Advisor

Dr. Richard Lander Kwame Glover is a dedicated Biological Scientist with over 20 years of experience in academia and research, complemented by nine years in program and project management. His career began at Ghana’s Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine (CSRPM), where he established the Microbiology Laboratory and developed essential screening protocols, enabling traditional herbal products to gain certification from the Ghana Health Service.

In his subsequent role as a Senior Lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Ghana, Dr. Richard Lander Kwame Glover led the Department of Applied Biology and coordinated program accreditation efforts. During his work on the DANIDA-sponsored ENRECA project, he introduced innovative techniques in Traditional African fermented food processing technology in West Africa and mentored numerous PhD candidates, many of whom have since advanced in their careers.

More recently, he served as a Programme Specialist (Biological Sciences) with the International Science Council Regional Office for Africa (ISC ROA) in South Africa. In this role, he managed consortium development workshops, led the INGSAAfrica Chapter, and contributed to the establishment of the African Scientists Directory.

As an Agri-Food Systems Advisor at OBA Global Citizens, Dr. R.K. Richard Glover brings a wealth of expertise in biological sciences, food systems research, and program management to support the organization's mission in sustainable agriculture, food security, and green business development.

Dr. Glover’s extensive experience in traditional African fermented food processing, microbiology, and organic certification will be instrumental in guiding OBA’s FarmFood4All project, particularly in developing resilient, climate-smart food systems. His leadership in academia and industry, including his role at the International Science Council Regional Office for Africa, positions him to foster capacity-building initiatives and drive research-driven innovation in sustainable food production.

He will provide strategic guidance on:

  1. GBD (Green Business Development): Equipping young Nigerians with the necessary skills and knowledge to build sustainable agribusinesses.
  2. NutriLoop: Supporting the manufacturing of organic fertilizers from food waste, promoting circular economy models in the agricultural sector.

Through his advisory role, Dr. Glover will support policy advocacy, research innovation, and partnerships, ensuring OBA Global Citizens effectively scales its agri-food sustainability initiatives across Nigeria and Africa.
